Full of Christmas Spirit!

A beautiful day dawned on Sunday, sunny but not too hot. Jan’s home was full of the Christmas spirit with beautiful decorations and tables dressed to the hilt! A beautiful sight to greet one on arrival!

The morning began with little canapes being served to everyone as they mingled, then followed the main course with the various tables being called up individually, avoiding a crush at the food table where committee members were serving everyone. A pause in eating was required before finishing off with delectable (and they were delectable!) mini pavlovas and fresh fruit. Tea, coffee and tiny yummy chocolate balls with a rose on top (of course!) concluded our Christmas lunch.

Everyone then stayed on, mingling and chatting which was wonderful to see. A big thankyou to the committee who prepared the food and also served everyone.

And a VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU to JAN who not only let us all enjoy her beautiful home but also managed to organize the committee so proceedings ran smoothly! It definitely was a wonderful, festive, happy Christmas Luncheon.

This year has been full with many varied topics at our meetings, visits to members’ gardens (thank you so much for volunteering and welcoming us into your gardens and homes, it is very much appreciated by the committee and members), trip to Toowoomba, Queensland for the biannual HRiA Conference, busy bees and so on.

As 2025 comes to a close the Committee would like to thank all those who have participated and made this year of loving beautiful old heritage roses a successful one and look forward to meeting again in the new year.

We would encourage you to join as a member of our parent group Heritage Roses in Australia and help us to keep old roses in the public domain for perpetuity. Find out about the member benefits and more here.
