Winter is Here!

We hope you all survived the stormy long-weekend, that brought winter to Perth! I know lots of people experienced long power outages, damaged fences and up-rooted trees that caused major damage. I hope that was not YOU!

Winter is the coldest, but still a very beautiful season of the year. It brings chilly winds, frosty mornings, shorter days and as temperatures plummet – Nature seems to take a break.

Winter acts as a serene, magical pause in nature where the world cools down, and cosy comforts take centre stage. We bundle up in sweaters, jackets and scarves. We get to experience the unique joys winter offers and health benefits. It is a time for warm beverages, crackling fires, and spending quality time indoors with family and friends.

The Australian Alps and many other regions around our beautiful world, nature transforms into a silent, winter wonderland. Pristine blankets of white snow cover the landscape. In these chilly conditions, outdoor activities like skiing, snowboarding, and ice skating become popular.

For the farmers, winter weather is crucial for growing essential crops like wheat and barley. These crops supply essential foods for us all.

Who does not enjoy a slice or two of toast topped with jam and cream and a warm cup of cocoa in hand! So relax and enjoy the quieter times of winter!
